Suncoast Sports Club was formed in 1998 at Glebe Park on Siesta Key with just 60 players playing soccer. The league's philosophy is that "Every child deserves the right to play sports just for Fun! We have grown to over five hundred active players participating in seven different sports:
- soccer
- flag football
- tackle football
- basketball
- T-ball
- coach pitch baseball
- golf
- tennis
- and now Lacrosse!
Over five thousand players have gone through the Suncoast Sports Club and many are now playing in college, high school, and middle school athletic programs. Parents like Suncoast for many things, but most importantly that not only can their child learn by playing, but have fun doing it. Parents like the family environment without any worries about negative reactions from other parents, no politics, just family fun sports.
Sports should always be fun, even in competitive sports players should be able to relax and have a good time. SPORTSMANSHIP and FUN should go hand in hand.
