Stephen Weeks, Vice President of Suncoast Sports Club, Inc., a life long resident of Sarasota previously owner of All Florida Landscape and Irrigation with offices in Tampa, Naples, Sarasota, and Bradenton. Received his Associate of Arts Degree in 1975, and certificate in Ornamental Horticulture in 1976. Started coaching his two boys David 6 and Eddie 5 in 1989 with Sarasota United Soccer League, served on Board of directors three times, became a F.I.F.A. certified soccer referee in 1990, and became a soccer referee for Florida high school Activities Association in 1991. Coached "Raiders" soccer team for nine years going from worst to first in 1995. Coached basketball at YMCA and Jewish Community Center for four years, AAU baseball coach for one year, and supported local sports programs for almost twenty years. Formed Suncoast Sports Club in 1998 at Glebe Park on Siesta Key with 60 players just playing soccer. The league philosophy that "Every child deserves the right to play sports just for Fun!", we have grown to over seven hundred players participating in eight different sports, soccer, flag football, tackle football, basketball, T-ball, coach pitch baseball, golf, tennis, and now Lacrosse. Over five thousand players have gone through the Suncoast Sports Club and many are now playing in college, high school, and middle school athletic programs. parents like Suncoast for many things, but most importantly that not only can their child learn by playing, but have fun doing it. Parents like the family environment without any worries about negative reactions from other parents, no politics, just family fun sports. Sports should always be fun, even in competitive sports players should be able to relax and have a good time. SPORTSMANSHIP and FUN should go hand in hand.
